A Woodland Hideaway

The Green Lodge enjoys an enviable position amid the trees balancing privacy and seclusion with the convenience of nearby facilities. Situated on the Rothiemurchus Estate, it is close to the shops and restaurant of Aviemore but just far enough away from the traffic and holiday crowds. With traffic free paths and cycle routes from the front door it would be easy to holiday car free or, at least, reduce the necessity to constantly pack everyone and everything into the car each time you want to go out.

A farm Shop, cafe and a multitude of activities at The Rothiemurchus Centre are just a short, easy walk away. Slightly further is The Old Bridge Inn, a delightful riverside pub for drinks and food.

Aviemore: First really developed as a skiing centre, Aviemore is now a popular tourist base year round. Its popularity means it has a far greater range of shops and facilities than the resident population would support. The centre of town is less than half an hour's walk, an easy cycle or a short drive from the lodge. The centre has a good choice of shops, meaning you can easily pick up groceries, browse for gifts or stock up on outdoor gear. There's also a good selection of restaurants, cafes, bars and takeaways.

The Cairngorms National Park: The popularity of Aviemore is due to its location within the Cairngorms National Park. The UK's largest National Park it covers a vast area comprising high peaks, scenic lochs and rivers and vast tracts of wilderness. It is a playground for the active with superb hillwalking, cycling, running, watersports, snowsports and golf.

The Scottish Highlands: The Green Lodge is also a fabulous base from which to explore the wider Highlands. Inverness, the capital of the Highlands is about 45 minutes drive away (or easily reachable by train or bus). Other highlights are too numerous to mention but some of our highlights include dolphin watching on the Black Isle; enjoying the beautiful beaches of Nairn; keeping an eye out for Nessie on a Loch Ness cruise; and the stunning Dunrobin Castle and Gardens.
